  • Animated emoji that really move, plus ready-made text stickers and new fonts.
  • The preview now looks exactly like the GIF you'll get.
  • Your edits save themselves, and one tap saves the GIF to your gallery.

1.12Layers, animated emoji & an honest preview

October 2026Planned as 0.05, 0.06 and 0.07, released together

  • Layers timeline: every text and emoji gets its own row on one timeline. Tap a row to pick it, drag the round handles to set when it appears and disappears, drag the bar to slide it. Double-tap or long-press to open its options.
  • Scrub to place: drag the time ruler (or empty space on a row) to move through the GIF, stop on the right moment and place your text there.
  • One timeline at a time: switch between Video and Layers, so the preview stays big. The right one opens by itself for the tool you pick.
  • Text + Emoji share one button in the tool bar.
  • Animated emoji (883 of them) in GIF Taxi, with search, categories and skin tones.
  • Quick text: 16 ready-made text stickers (WOW, LOL, OMG… in English and Spanish).
  • Fonts: 8 new trending fonts and a font browser grouped by style that shows your own text. Star your favourites.
  • My styles: save a text look (font, colours, outline, shadow, animations) and reuse it with one tap. Favourite animations are listed first.
  • Delete a single text, and empty texts clean themselves up.
  • Honest preview: Preview runs your frames through the real GIF encoder, so what you see is exactly what you get.
  • Better quality: no more ghosting with strong compression, and plain warnings when a setting (few colours, low frame rate) will hurt the result.
  • Autosave: your edit is saved as a project a moment after every change and before every export, so nothing gets lost.
  • Built-in tips: a short guide pops up the first time you use emoji, text, layers, speed, crop, loop styles and the video picker. Replay them anytime from Settings.
  • One-tap save: Save GIF keeps it in the app and in your phone gallery (Pictures/GIF Taxi), with Open in gallery and Share.
  • Fixes: a memory problem that could close the app while exporting long GIFs with animated emoji, a crash with very short clips, smoother scrubbing, and more.

0.04Smaller GIFs

September 30, 2026

  • Smaller GIFs at the same quality: new lossy packing tied to the Quality setting (about 22–28% smaller by default).
  • Start with my last settings: new GIFs use the look of the last GIF you kept.
  • FPS moved next to Trim; canvas sizes listed from smallest to biggest.
  • Fixes: text fits narrow and tall canvases, Back closes the Export sheet, discarded text no longer comes back, clearer save buttons.
